Your Winter Spiti Valley trip from Delhi begins with an overnight journey towards Shimla. Board the comfortable AC Volvo bus from Delhi and settle into your push-back seat for the overnight ride through the plains towards the Himalayan foothills.
The overnight journey allows you to save valuable daytime travel hours and arrive in Shimla ready to begin your Spiti Valley winter adventure.
Keep a warm jacket handy as Shimla can be considerably colder than Delhi, particularly during the winter months.

After your transfer from Shimla, begin the scenic drive towards Narkanda, travelling through Kufri and Theog.
The road gradually climbs through beautiful Himalayan landscapes surrounded by pine forests and apple-growing areas. During winter, the landscape can take on a completely different appearance as temperatures fall and snowfall may transform the surrounding mountains.
Narkanda is a peaceful Himalayan destination away from the crowds of Shimla and provides a relaxed beginning to your Spiti Valley winter tour.
Spend the evening enjoying the mountain atmosphere and preparing for the longer drive into Kinnaur.

After breakfast, start your journey from Narkanda towards Kalpa in Kinnaur Valley.
The route passes through Rampur, Jeori and Wangtu before continuing through the beautiful Sutlej Valley. As you travel deeper into Kinnaur, the scenery changes dramatically, with towering Himalayan mountains and traditional villages surrounding the route.
One of the major highlights of today’s journey is the spectacular view of the Kinner Kailash mountain range.
The winding mountain roads make this a scenic but long travel day, so keep your medicines, water and personal essentials easily accessible.

Drive through Khab Sangam and Nako, enjoying spectacular mountain scenery along the way. Gradually, the lush landscapes of Kinnaur give way to the rugged, high-altitude terrain that Spiti is famous for.
Continue towards Tabo, one of the most culturally significant settlements in the valley.
On arrival, visit Tabo Monastery and experience the ancient Himalayan Buddhist culture of the region.

Depending on road accessibility and weather conditions, today’s journey can include Pin Valley, Mud Village and Dhankar before continuing towards Kaza.
Pin Valley is known for its dramatic mountain scenery and remote Himalayan settlements. The route offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the quieter side of Spiti away from the main tourist circuit.
Continue towards Kaza, the main town and travel hub of Spiti Valley.
Because this is a winter expedition, the Pin Valley section is subject to road conditions, snowfall, landslides and local accessibility. If heavy snowfall or road closure makes the route unsafe, the itinerary may be modified.

Visit Key Monastery, one of the most iconic monasteries in Spiti Valley, before continuing towards
Kibber Village.
Next, experience the spectacular Chicham Bridge and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan mountains.
Continue towards the high-altitude villages of Langza, Hikkim and Komic. These villages provide a fascinating glimpse into life in the remote Himalayan region.

As the altitude gradually decreases, the scenery changes once again, giving you a completely different perspective of the Himalayan landscape.

Distance: Approx. 220 km | Altitude: Approx. 2,200 m | Travel Time: Approx. 7–8 Hours After breakfast, begin your scenic journey from Kalpa to Shimla.
